considered orphaned since quite young
my Father has taken a personal interest in me
his watchful eye keeping me
holding me

when others have loomed threateningly
at different times he has maneuvered me
out of harm’s way
protecting me

you’ll find he gets angry when others use me wrongly
like a father with a hurt daughter
when others abandoned me
he picked me back up

i’d often wondered what was wrong with me
why everyone seemed to handle me so carelessly
but to remind me i’m okay
he would prove to only ever leave me
