complex situation
it was was rather
simple, really…
a caramel drizzle
over a dash of
spicy cinnamon,
a decadent sip
in a cozy cafe
the reward after a long day
to spoil a tired woman
i’m not strong enough this time
how do i find myself
continually preparing myself
for this?
across that tree
right upon that leaf
the shadows strike
a contrast a shade different
from the last memory
I don’t know how to say it.
Let it spill like a rainbow
of color stretched to the horizon
How my love contained
I must pack like a plane
full with ill-fitted heavy luggage
And how every so often
one comes tumbling out
with a broken zipper… a ripped seam
Don’t look around
Keep your head down
Eyes on the ground
One foot steps after another
Not too fast
but move quickly
No time for dawdling
but for staying busy
