Life can be really stupid
relentless, and unfair
Yet the battle is to make the best
of every good that's there.
It can run you down
shake you about
and leave you quite alone
And then expect you to get up
dust off your clothes
and pick back up without a moan.
Some things I will have to do
and not all will understand
The things I've survived
just to live as if "I can."
You may lose respect
for what you would not do
But what you do not know
makes all the difference in "me too."
I take with me the happy
the moments that shined so bright
And will always carry the good
that held me upright.
I will never forget to treasure
the wins and the gifts from those
That saw me, loved me, and strengthened me
when I had lost all hope.
Life can be unjust
and some can rise again
Others will do their best
and then just let it end.
