One foot steps after another

Sinks into the horizon before you
you peek up to glance
And the moon winks upon you
Each day wrapped
in time wizzing by
Feel the rays
Count the stars
Raise your eyes

No one knows but you
It’s true
For now,
no one knows but you
The blessed perfection
in the pause for inspection
and relaxing into
your own solitude
One day my hand will cradle
the fingers of one who shows
What it is to love with depth
and never let go
But today and tonight
is not that time for me
And i don’t know when
that will ever be
But i’ll keep my head down for now
and when it’s time, i’ll be ready.
