She says she means every word
when she says I would be missed.

That my perseverance is a virtue.
That she's thankful I exist.
She says the decisions that I make
the way I work so hard,
Give her reasons to be impressed
and she holds such a tender regard.
She has tears in her eyes
and they evoke the ones in mine.
She is as true a friend as they come
allowing me to trust this time.
A hug and kindness.
A space made for love.
There are those who just know
what good friendship is made of.
I am grateful. I wanted to give up.
I was sure I remained unseen.
And she held out a hand
And it meant everything to me.
