I know, I know
that at the end of the day the sun will sink low
and then soon the moon will rise
and there is a place in california
where you can see them both
I know it to be unchanging
cycles and seasons
the angles of the globe
the perfection of the complex system
sustaining life to what we’ve yet
to discover of the cosmos
I know I can trust that I can close my eyes
and wake for a new day to show
that natural boundaries determine where a tree’s roots will bend and the rivers will flow
I know that my little nature companions will always have a home
as they instinctively go go go:
the comical robin, the musical mocking bird, and the sweet little hopping sparrow
I know the cycles of birth, rebirth, and growth
in the springtime will burst forth with a blooming bellow
In the same vein
I know, I know
I can trust who made this all so.
