shedding season

What are we shedding this season?
Shall I make it a game?
Draw a card, any card
I won't say their name

The leaves are falling
Winter is calling
Soon the branches will be bare
A cold front is blowing
the future is glowing
and I am losing my care
And that's not who I am
I don't want to lose my care

If this sounds familiar
Perhaps you too
Have had it with the weight
So, lets walk down
on that path
to that spot by the lake
tip our heads back to yell it in the wind
and give it all away

You can hand me yours
and I'll smile and say,
"Look, it’s already gone!"
And you will take all of mine
crush it down
and get rid of all that feels wrong.
And we will laugh because we can't believe
it took us this long.

So what will it be?
It’s never too late.
What are we shedding this season?
And are you game?
