the reason

i arrived hopeful 
and full of life 
joy ripped though me 
i laughed and sighed 

i gathered courage 
to burst upon the scene 
and realized soon 
no one is here with me 

sick to my heart 
crumbling within my soul 
i would live always

just wanting to go 

having to interpret 

the language i speak 

defending myself always
